The Canticle Singers is voluntary in nature and is independent of any particular organisations. Its activities and the staging of musical productions for charitable causes is a collaborative process involving different talents, partnerships and creative teamwork between our community and us.

Nominal monthly subscriptions from our members help to only partially meet normal expenditure, we are dependent on the grants we receive our corporations, associates and individuals. With support both in kind and cash, their generosity is of increasing importance to our activities and allow us to maintain a high standard of live appearances.

Become a Partner
As a leading voluntary vocal group The Canticle Singers invites corporations and individuals who share our commitment and vision to providing good and inspirational music, to help us maintain this. Corporate and Individual Partners are offered an attractive package of two to four of the best seats for every production that The Canticle Choir promotes, complemented with free programs. Additional invitations backstage, to final rehearsals and/or previews and social events may also be arranged. Patrons may be individuals or corporate and have the opportunity of being identified in show programs, if they wish. Kindly contact us for more details.

Sponsorship & Corporate Entertainment
The Canticle Singers recognises the importance of the aims and values of its corporations and takes a flexible approach when working with them. Sponsorship may be linked with corporate entertaining and the effect on clients should not be underestimated - the impact of sponsoring an arts event can be impressive. Our audience is drawn from the general public, friends and colleagues of members and supporters of the charities that benefit from our activities.

-Becoming a Show Buyer
Usually a corporation that supports The Canticle Singers does so by being a show buyer and buying up a particular performance or it could simply place advertising in show programs.

-Funding the Production Cost
Typically, a corporation sponsoring one of our musical productions would contribute towards the production budget of the event. Donations of this kind demonstrate that the corporation supports the performing arts. Additionally, the direct benefits may include:

  • Special access to certain rehearsals and preview evenings.
  • Complimentary tickets and programs
  • Full page display advertisement in the show program (back cover may be possible)
  • Acknowledgment in the relevant section of the program
  • Acknowledgment in the venue's listings diary
  • Acknowledgment on the concert publicity; subject to press time (posters etc.)
  • Publicity material in the public areas of the venue
  • Opportunity to meet members of the The Canticle Singers, organizers, director and producer

The business rationale for sponsoring a concert is as follows:

  • Impact on entertained clients - this is your occasion
  • Cost per head is very good value
  • Raising your corporate profile with the choir, audience and the community at large
  • Charitable and artistic association
  • Improvement of your corporate image amongst its staff and customers
  • Community involvement

-Charity Fundraising
Although itself a voluntary group, The Canticle Singers has since its inception been involved in helping charitable organizations and causes such as:

  • St Nicholas Home for the Blind, Penang
  • Tsunami relief work in Indonesia, Thailand and Sri Lanka
  • Rumah Nur Salam, a shelter for street children in Chow Kit, Kuala Lumpur
  • Rumah Destiny, a children's home in Kuala Lumpur
  • A Senoi Community in Perak
  • Dignity and Services Berhad, an advocacy for those who are physically challenged
  • Seminari Theologi Malaysia Building Fund
  • The Fellowship of Evangelical Students
  • The Lee Hong Kwang Family Trust Fund, an educational trust fund
  • Malaysian CARE
  • Zahida Perveen Fund & Shahnaz Bukhari Shelter as featured on National Geographic Television's "Honour Killings"

We have found that forging strong relationships with corporations through their support of our musical productions can bring many mutual benefits. If you are interested, please contact us directly.
